There is a lot to reflect on this year, from the highest of highs of new life, love and successes to the lows of loss, life changing news and picking up the pieces. I have learnt and grown from everything that has happened this year and I know it’ll shape how I continue to move through life. A new year does not need to happen to recognise that, but there is something poignant about closing a chapter and embracing a new one. I am sure 2026 has much to show and teach me and so I set the simple intention of Harmony and am excited to see how that manifests throughout the year!

A big thank you to all who have supported me through this year in whatever form, I am grateful and hold gratitude for you all!

Two years ago @niknoworries & I sat on a beach in India and celebrated completing our yoga teacher training course. We knew a friendship was cemented but neither of us had any idea what the future would bring us. We have both muddled through being new yoga teachers, to hosting retreats and taking regular classes. I am always so grateful to Nik for being by my side every step of the way, you are so heavily interwoven into my story of becoming a yoga teacher. Happy two years to us both my dear! Let’s see what the rest have got in store for us! ❤️

Today is World Mental Health Day! I worked a shift back in my previous job in mental health and did a talk at the World Mental Health Day conference about my new job in Frailty! Mental ill health can affect us at any point throughout our life and was great to speak and bring awareness to this subject to other healthcare professionals.

Today is international yoga day, I was blessed to teach a class this morning then head to an event to celebrate the day. In this pose, puppy pose or uttana shishosasna I always am reminded of the grounding I experience with the many facets of yoga, especially when cued as heart to earth pose, the intention of self surrender. I will always be eternally grateful yoga found me and the journey it has taken me on over the 10+ years of practising. Happy international yoga day to all!

Sunday was the most gorgeous day! My dear friend @niknoworries invited me to join him and his wife’s ’Spring Snug’ day retreat! As well as an amazing yoga class and beautiful sound bath @greenfeatherflowers also guided us through making sustainable bouquets by foraging in the forest around us. This was my end product - hope you enjoy the tankard it is in 😂 Such an incredible way to reconnect with nature and find the beauty in the world around us.

I am a firm believer the universe knows what you need. Set off this evening for an ashtanga class, a very yang (masculine) practice, when I arrived I was informed by the teacher that because it was a full moon such a full on practice was not advised and that the class was yin (feminine) yoga. I felt joy inside when they said this! Having been wrestling with myself today that I hadn’t done ‘enough’ on holiday(!) and still recovering from some rough food poisoning the universe clearly saw I still needed to rest and give myself space and permission to slow down. One beautiful practice later and a much clearer headspace to enjoy this gorgeous full moon!

Today is world mental health day! Last year to mark the occasion we held a conference day for NHS employees and we did the same this year!

This year I spoke about ADHD, something very close to my heart. Although not strictly a mental illness, ADHD can cause mental health issues and also can make you more likely to struggle with mental illness. It was a privilege to bring this talk to the conference and to hopefully help increase awareness! 💚

I’m no reel queen or tiktoker but found this fun to make 😂 from teaching at @hotpodyogasouthampton to then getting ready for a murder mystery night for a hen do at @houdinisafterdarkbar! Felt strange being so dressed up in the yoga studio! 😂

I’m no reel queen or tiktoker but found this fun to make 😂 from teaching at @hotpodyogasouthampton to then getting ready for a murder mystery night for a hen do at @houdinisafterdarkbar! Felt strange being so dressed up in the yoga studio! 😂

The first piece of advice I was given before I did my yoga teaching was not to lose my own practice, I laughed when I was told this because to me that didn’t seem possible! However returning back to shift work and trying to teach yoga classes I found my own mat quickly began collecting dust. After finding myself with a chunk of days off work @danielwotton and I booked this gorgeous air b&b in the middle of nowhere, with no plans and I only had one intention - to reconnect with my personal yoga practice. The scenery has certainly helped encourage me to practice and reminded me why my own practice is so important! May I continue to show up for myself in order to show up for others 🧘‍♀️

Mental health awareness week!

The theme for mental health awareness week this year is movement, moving our body helps with our mental wellbeing through being active but it holds a lot more benefits for me. Movement for my mental health means enjoying nature come rain or sun, embracing the cold of the sea and being amazed by her power, the feeling of beating traffic on my bike, the joy of seeing a finish line or going on long chatty runs and putting the world to rights, being able to crawl around with my niece (or carry her home when she’s tired 😂), @amyseclecticadventures and I encouraging each other in the gym and helping to guide others to discover the joy of movement through yoga. Movement benefits my mental wellbeing in so many ways and try to never take for granted the way my body allows me to move.
